Description

The Floorhand is responsible for assisting the Motorhand and Driller on the drill floor and conducting preventative maintenance on rig equipment. Floorhands also assist in the mixing of mud and chemicals, clean and paint as required, assist in moving the rig, rigging up and rigging out. Safety is the first priority for all drilling rig personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • General maintenance of drilling rig
  • Assist in cleaning and housekeeping of drilling rig
  • Work on drill floor to assist in drilling operations
  • Set an example to fellow employees by adhering to all safe work practices and policies. Train new crew members to do the same
  • Ensure usage of proper safety equipment
  • Learn and adhere to the Company’s Safety Program and government safety regulations
  • Ability to comply with company guidelines and work in a safe manner

Education and Experience

  • 6 months to 1 year working as a Leasehand

Job Requirements

MUST Possess Valid/Current

  • Enform H2S Alive Certification
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Certification
  • EGSO

Special Conditions of Employment

  • MUST be 18 years of age
  • 6 months to 1 year as a Leasehand
  • Require valid driver licence and vehicle
  • Responsible for own transportation to and from worksite each day
  • Ability to financially sustain lodging/meals in non-camp situations
  • Must be able to complete and successfully pass a Pre Employment Physical and Drug Test ( This will be arranged by CWC Ironhand Drilling)
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions such as rain, heat/cold, and exposure to loud noises
  • Ability to work in fast-paced/repetitious environment
